Once worn when playing basketball, the Dunk Lows have come a long way and are now heavy in sneaker culture as a casual shoe. Ranging from multiple colorways, styles and designs, some even Off-White, the Dunk Lows have become a fan favorite within the Nike brand.
In the early 2000s, Nike Dunk Lows were created. The first shoe to release was in 2002, the “Richard Mulder” – in a simple white and blue colorway. Before this release, most hype for the shoe was influenced by collabs with the brand Supreme. Another one of the first Nike SB Dunks incorporated elephant design commonly seen on Jordan 3’s. Generally speaking, popular Dunk Lows include the “Low Diamond Supply Co Tiffany”, “Brazil”, “Syracuse”, “Travis Scott”, and of course the Off-White collabs.
While before Dunk Lows were mainly seen for doing some sort of activity, such as skateboarding (which is where SB comes from), playing basketball, and etc. Dunk Lows are most popular now for their ease of wear. The Dunk Lows have so many different colorways that they are easily able to be worn with any outfit. Truthfully, Dunk Lows created a wave that inspired many other types of shoes, while simultaneously growing that very wave within the Nike brand.
